BOTANICAL ARTIST

Mathias Mons is a botanical artist focusing on wearable flowers. He worked in flowershops but the ideas he had in mind didnt fit into the concept of a flowershop.

TIMELINE

In 2014 he began to experiment with private projects making wearable flowers.

In 2015 he had a small exhibition at the second hand shop called Baubau Shop located in Copenhagen. It was a succes!

Mathias began to make wearable flowers for musicvideo, catwalk and performances.

In 2016 Mathias made his second musicvideo for singer Clara Sofie, which was a gamechanger for him. He also made wearable flowers for the band called We Like We at the Danish Royal Theatre. In 2016 Mathias also begin make botanical art for photoseries for magazines.

In 2017 Mathias had his first solo exhibition at Zari Gallery in London. He also made flowers for a catwalk show in Geneve, for Ohland for a BEO-Play music video and more photoseries for magazines.

In 2018 Mathias got diagnosed with a mental disorder called skizotypi, which was a very struggling period. It took years to find himself again.

In 2025 Mathias was ready to explore the flowerworld again and made flowers for the group Darling at X Factor. Beside that he made flowers for a ballet performance and for photoshoots.

In 2026 his headpieces got published in Vogue Scandinavia, wored by the danish singer Katinka and wearable strawflowers was made for the Sanctomb performance in Oslo.
